Narcissism is an overwhelming and confusing topic. But when you reveal its mask, you see that it is basically a lie, told to those who are vulnerable.

Narcissistic abuse, by nature, is designed to keep you trapped in shame-based vertigo. It doesn’t just go away because you know it exists. Narcissism creates a set of beliefs, behaviours and paradigms in its target which must be changed from the inside.

‘How To Kill A Narcissist’ is a book with two aims

1. To reveal the rotten core of the narcissistic personality so you can see it clearly
2. To present you with an inside-out strategy for healing, recovery and freedom

Whether you are dealing with narcissistic parents, husbands, wives, friends, bosses or colleagues, the same philosophy will apply. After reading ‘How To Kill A Narcissist’, you will

- Become aware of the damage narcissistic abuse has done to your psyche and how to heal it
- See how the narcissist uses shame as a weapon to fool you into feeling inferior
- Understand the playing field which narcissists thrive on and how to stop playing their game
- Learn how the narcissist uses mind control to break down and rebuild your identity for the purpose of subjugation
- Gain tools for disarming a narcissist i.e. starving them of their narcissistic supply
- Have taken a closer look beyond the label of narcissistic personality disorder

‘How To Kill A Narcissist’ takes an enlightening look at the dynamic between a narcissist and their target. It takes you on a deep journey and describes

- How we unwittingly qualify as targets of narcissists
- The shame/grandiosity continuum and how the narcissist uses it to crush your self-esteem
- The law of grandiosity and how it influences our relationships with the self-absorbed
- The effect that narcissism has on its target including toxic shame, a dissociated mind and a weakened ego
- The obstacles which keep you trapped in a cycle of narcissistic abuse the psychological cage, love starvation, low shame tolerance, guilt and conditioning to shamelessness

Using an inside-out approach, ‘How To Kill A Narcissist’ presents the seven practices for recovery and healing

1. Get allies Boost self-esteem through limbic resonance
2. Give shape to your true self Uncover disowned parts of the self and restore wholeness
3. Skill up Empower yourself
4. Flex your muscles Challenge the psychological cage and come out of hiding
5. Even the scale Restore balance to your relationships
6. Boundaries Foster a strong sense of self and firmly protect it
7. Scorched earth Disengage from those who wish to manipulate you

Each practice is designed to instil you with independence, strength, emotional resilience and awareness while allowing you to cultivate balanced, loving relationships and pursue a life of passion.

This is the art of killing a narcissist.

How To Kill A Narcissist Debunking The Myth Of Narcissism And Recovering From Narcissistic Abuse edition by JH Simon Health Fitness Dieting eBooks

I’ve read many books on narcissism and they all gave me validation about what happened to me and reinforced my decision to end the relationship. I thought that leaving was all I needed to do but I came to realize that I had reduced my life, my -self- down to a mere fraction of what they were meant to be.

More than a year after leaving I knew I was still not fully healed so I kept reading book after book on narcissism. It wasn’t until I read Simon’s book that I realized what was missing from the others: Instructions on how to rebuild yourself. An understanding of how a sense of self and boundaries come about in the first place.

This was the only narcissism book I’ve read that gave me hope. After a lifetime of psychological abuse I can hardly express how surprised I was to feel that. In the middle of reading it, I felt a longtime queasy knot in my stomach come undone. I don’t know what to say about the title other than to please look past it because it doesn’t reflect what’s inside.

Here are my recommendations to heal long-term abuse:

How to Kill a Narcissist by JH Simon
Honoring the Self by Nathaniel Branden
The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel Van der Kolk

I wish everyone well.

Excellent. Outlining cause and effect with advice for resulting change.
Great and to the point - designed for people who have done the research and are looking at where to go from here
I was stuck in a 15-year relationship with a woman obsessed with herself. Now we are in divorce. I picked up this book to help myself understand more clearly what was going on. I thought I was alone in my family struggle with this person, and I couldn't believe so much information is synthesized about this category of people. The book described my wife exactly as she was, and helped me realize that the decision I was was the right one. Narcissism is a disease, spreading very quickly in modern society.

To counter that, the book does a great job giving you suggestions what to do in order to escape from the deadly trap of a narcissist. Language is simple and understandable. I leaves you uplifted and empowered.

I loved it and would recommend it to anyone researching this field, or being in a relationship with a narcissist.
This book was a total bell-ringer. It starts with a slow simmer, showing the differences between those TARGETED by a narcissist, and then the behavior of NARCISSISTS themselves. Very valuable! OOOh...The "sanctioned superiority, and charm," (How to K...a Narcissist, JH Simon, pg. 78) hit me, hard! I had to watch the charm given to me, off and on/ OTHERS, in public, but I knew what was coming later. Then, the sanctioned superiority; 23 years of hearing how me, his wife, and MY family, could never measure up to his family... The Breaking Down Your Identity (How to K a Narcissist, JH Simon, pg.87). I used to advise my EX he could be used as a secret weapon by the CIA to break down people and totally demoralize/ destroy them.

After this slow simmer of heartbreaking, but necessary, revelation; the water begins to boil rigorously. The Brain Re-Washing (How to K a Narcissist, JH Simon, pg. 100) begins. Trust me, IF you want to heal from NARCISSIST ABUSE, you need to read this book and find out the seven goals, to making yourself whole, and healing the toxic shame, the narc's use to enslave you to their devious machinations. It is really a GREAT BOOK!
I was becoming buried in a shame I didn't understand that was becoming more and more physically, emotionally and psychologically disabling. I found this book and it explained everything that was happening with a narcissistic associate. I couldn't put this book down. It validated and confirmed, analyzed and explained, and guided and instructed. I was able to take immediate action and felt a huge weight off my shoulders. I gave the hot potato back!
I have read many books on narcissism, all of which I bought from This is the only book I feel that teaches you how to heal. Many books focus on being a victim and really do not help that much with recovery from narcissistic abuse.
I've read a lot of books about Narcissism, this book goes much deeper into the how and why and covers new ground. An excellent book for someone who is seeking healing from narcissist relationships (partners and parents and employers) who has already read a lot of the literature and is looking for deeper information instead of a lot of personal stories.
